Associate professor LI Song from College of Chinese Language and Literature published Go Through the Second World War· Picture memory series, ncluding two volume, Glory of the victory: surrender in Zhi River, A deep chasm turned into a thoroughfare: life line in China Burma India Theater. They were published and issued by North Literature and Art Publishing House this August.From 2010-2011,during the visit in Harvard University, LI Song got to know two American veteran who have served in China Burma India Theater during the Second World War. One is Captain Frederick Junior·F·Slanlie, the other is Sergeant Joseph·De. They were students in MIT who joined the army in response to the call of government. They fought shoulder-to-shoulder with the Chinese Expeditionary Forces. During their service, they took about 600 high-definition photos using the very sophisticated Kodak camera. These photos have been carefully preserved for 70 years. Its debut in the world is a grand gift from China to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and The World Anti-Fascist War.
